Terry Kwak, MD is a board certified ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in corneal and LASIK surgery. He received his undergraduate degree from the Honors College of Kent State University and received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Kwak completed his ophthalmology training at the State University of New York Health Science Center in Brooklyn (Downstate Medical Center). Subsequently, he completed advanced fellowship training in cornea and refractive surgery at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York, where he gained extensive experience in treating corneal and external disease, corneal transplantation surgery, and laser vision correction. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Fu obtained his medical degree nearby at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he received the George Frick Award for Excellence in Ophthalmology. He then completed his ophthalmology residency training at Loyola University Medical Center and Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital in Chicago, IL, where he earned accolades for his patient care, educational/teaching prowess, and his research.
Dr. Fu strives to provide excellent, ethical, and compassionate care in a professional and friendly environment. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Shannen K. Allen, MD is a board certified ophthalmologist. Her undergraduate degree is from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Following a research fellowship at The National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Allen went on to receive her medical degree at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland.
She completed her ophthalmology training at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington D.C. Dr. Allen is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Craig Spelke is a board-certified Optometrist for the last 6 years. Born and raised in Rockville, MD, Dr. Spelke graduated from Walter Johnson High School. He obtained his Bachelor of Biological Sciences at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He went on to receive his Doctorate of optometry from The New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA.
Dr. Spelke has gained extensive experience while practicing general optometry in private practice. He delivers superior and compassionate care to all his patients. He specializes to fit difficult contact lenses including RGP and scleral lenses for irregular astigmatism and other corneal diseases. Also, Dr Spelke performs examinations to screen for cataracts, glaucoma and diabetes in the eye as well as manages dry eyes and other ocular surface diseases.
While not in the office, Dr. Spelke is a devoted sport fan of both the Capitals and Nationals, loves traveling and relaxing with his family and friends. Dr. Spelke is excited to be back in the Rockville area and looks forward to providing the most current and effective care to his patients.
Dr. Min is a board-certified optometrist with a focus on primary eye care. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before earning her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry. During her time at SUNY, she was awarded the Dr. Mark S. Feder Scholarship for Clinical Excellence in Primary Care and achieved the Distinguished Academic Merit distinction.
Fluent in English and proficient in Korean, Dr. Min brings a diverse cultural perspective to the practice. She is passionate about building meaningful connections with her patients and contributing to their overall well-being.
